ABOUT THE PAINTING

WHAT INSPIRED ME

BB-8 Star Wars pop art satire painting, where I’ve taken a playful yet critical look at BB-8 from Star Wars, now adorned with a collage of fast food and corporate sponsors. In a world increasingly dominated by advertisements, I wanted to highlight how consumerism is eroding the beauty and integrity of art.

This acrylic painting piece draws inspiration from Formula 1, where every inch of a car is smothered in soulless branding, transforming once-beautiful designs into mere vehicles for mass advertising. I envisioned a galaxy far, far away where droids like BB-8 roll around covered in the same mind-numbing ads. It’s a reflection of a growing trend, one that I believe you wouldn’t put past Disney.
