“Hi art nerds, I’m Stephen Quick and I’m an artist (whatever that means). I’ve been full time since 08ish. After leaving university, as you may know, the main question is ‘WHAT the eff do I do now?’ So I do this! I guess I’m a pop artist who loves pop culture and the empowerment that distills on us, I hope my work reflects this passion and goal. I got my ‘breakthrough’ when I started filming myself showing off for YouTube and the rest is Splintered Studio’s history (too dramatic!).

I have painted hundreds of paintings for many people all around the world from England to Australia, from the US to Japan, from Hogwarts to the Shire…every single painting has been a pleasure and the fact that you guys let me paint for you is still pretty amazing and humbling! I love TMNT, Buffy, Stanley Kubrick and have a constant battle in my head about whether I would want to be Spider-Man or Wolverine if I became a super hero.

A Bristol artist, pop artist, street artist, and video maker who loves smashing together worlds to create something bold, nostalgic, rebellious and empowering. My work takes the fun of pop culture, stirs it up with fine art techniques, with winks to our pop culture world to produce pieces that make you smile, think, or both.

Using spray paint, acrylic, ink, and stencils, I create art that jumps between walls, canvases, galleries, and the internet, because art belongs everywhere. Whether it’s a satirical mashup of icons or a bold burst of powerful feminism, my pieces are all about celebrating the chaos and creativity of contemporary culture.

Working from my Bristol studio, Splintered Studios, my work has been shipped worldwide to hundreds of collectors.

An accomplished artist with a dynamic career, I have painted live at numerous prestigious street art festivals across the country, including Upfest, Cheltenham, and Swindon, leaving my mark with murals nationwide. My work has earned accolades such as winning the Paintworks Paint Jam in Bristol, while my Banana Manifesto artwork was featured in the Broadway show Mojo Mickeybo and Star Wars’s Vanessa Marshall streams and promotional merchandise.

My videos have been showcased on platforms like SKY TV’s Ops TV, Adam and Joe, 30 Seconds to Mars, GameSpot UK, and Jackass, with over 2 million views on YouTube. My videos and artwork shared by many luminaries like Robert Downey Jr., Sarah Michelle Gellar, and Nathan Fillion.

I’ve exhibited alongside renowned artists like Banksy, Damien Hirst and Findac, and organised significant events, including the South Bristol Art Trail and multiple paint jams in Bristol. A two-time finalist for the Stencil Art Prize, I’ve also contributed to impactful projects like the Background Bob initiative and Brandalism’s COP21 climate talks.

I currently live in Bristol UK with my dog Gryffindor (Gryffin) the cockapoo, who you can meet at live painting events, he can’t paint for shit but, like his Dad, has great hair! His current interests are playing with his frizbee, barking and a daily game of ‘nap in every room’.
