Gerard Way is one of my greatest artistic inspirations, from his powerful songwriting and compelling comics to his distinct vision in everything he creates. This minimalist portrait honors the Three Cheers For Sweet Revenge era (painted even before The Black Parade!), featuring Gerard with his signature eye makeup, long hair, and that “death” look that defined his presence during that time.
The painting keeps things simple, focusing on black and white acrylic paint to emphasize Gerard’s emotive expression, with the powerful lyrics written beside him, resonate just as deeply now as they did back then.
Painted on 12oz cotton box canvas and ready to hang. Painted with a wrap around effect so there are no unsightly nails or staples,
or visible canvas.
Acrylic paintings are painted in a mixture of Golden, Liquitex and Winsor and Newton professional acrylic paints. Gouache paintings are painted in Liquitex. Spray painted paintings use
MTN 94, Montana Gold and Molotow.
All painting are finished with a non yellowing spray matt varnish.
ALL my painting are original, painted by me, in my studio and are not a print, a digital reproduction or some AI guff.
