'Wholock' My First Street Art Mural painted in Bristol 2014 at the tobacco factory

Sherlock / Dr Who Mashup Mural

Moving to Bristol, a city renowned for its vibrant street art scene was a turning point in my art career. Surrounded by inspiring murals and graffiti, I felt compelled to get involved—though breaking into the street art world is no easy task. Fortunately, I crossed paths with the amazing team at the Tobacco Factory, who offered me my first opportunity. Over the years, this partnership has blossomed into a fantastic relationship, and I’ve had the privilege of collaborating with them many times.

For my first mural, I created a mash-up piece featuring a massive Sherlock/Doctor Who-inspired artwork, blending Benedict Cumberbatch’s Sherlock with a sonic screwdriver. The project was an incredible challenge—it took nine hours of relentless effort and nearly pushed me to my limits. Despite the struggle to fill such a large space, completing my first-ever mural was an unforgettable experience. I learned so much and was over the moon with the result.

This mural marked the start of my journey into street art and mural painting, and it’s a memory I’ll always treasure.
