Waiting in the wings
Waiting In The Wings, mural, Paintworks, Bristol, UK
'I've been possessed by the spirits of old lovers before'
I was fortunate to be invited by Paintworks to contribute some art to their car park. The canvas was far from ordinary—a narrow, uneven, and crumbly wall that posed quite a challenge. Despite these obstacles and four unexpected rain delays, I thoroughly enjoyed the painting.
The piece I created is titled “Waiting in the Wings.” It features a serene woman gazing upward toward the blue skies and the towering buildings surrounding her. She lies gracefully on what will eventually become a lush bed of flowers, once they are planted. Her presence brings a sense of atmosphere, calm, and beauty to an otherwise stark and industrial setting.
I hoped the painting evoking a feeling of hope and serenity in a bustling urban environment.
