Space Dog

The Cheltenham Paint Festival this year was an unforgettable experience, though it came with its challenges. After a brush with COVID-19, I was left fatigued and unsure if I’d make it. Thankfully, a last-minute negative test result cleared the way, but not without leaving me utterly exhausted.

This was probably the most physically and mentally challenging painting I’ve ever done. Fatigue meant making more mistakes than usual (like realising, “it’s too high!” midway through). Yet, despite the hurdles, I managed to crawl across the finish line.Since COVID wiped out my prep time, I had no chance to design something in advance. While walking the dog, inspiration struck when I saw a poster for the new Lightyear film. That’s how “Space Dog” was born… My god in Buzz’s suit, make loads on sense!
