Severus SANE

In 2016, I organized my first-ever paint jam during the South Bank Bristol Art Trail, an event I also planned (it was a hectic week!). The jam titled ‘art nerds; took place at the Tobacco Factory in Bristol and marked the beginning of many incredible street art collaborations I would host there.

The passing of David Bowie and Alan Rickman just days apart was devastating, and I felt compelled to honor their legacies. I decided to create a mashup mural for the painting, blending their most iconic characters into one striking tribute.

For my piece, I combined Severus Snape from Harry Potter with David Bowie’s Aladdin Sane. The artwork features Snape with the signature Aladdin Sane lightning bolt across his face, casting a Bowie-inspired spell.

The live painting event brought together an amazing group of street artists, including Hannah Adamaszek, Clare Hoops, and Lemak. Painting alongside such talented and fun people made the day even more rewarding, filled with laughter and shared inspiration.

This event not only celebrated street art in Bristol but also brought a powerful tribute to two cultural icons, creating a memorable day for me.
