THE OUTSIDE GALLERY DID ACTUALLY GET DONE.

Til Death Do Us Part.

My darkly playful take on the idea of everlasting love. The old promise of “til death do us part” is taken pretty literally here, with one half of the couple having already made good on their side of the bargain.Romance. Mortality. A tiny bit of “well… this got dark quickly.”

Basically, traditional declarations of eternal love, but with a slightly more sinister pop art twist.

And what a day.

The rain tried its absolute best to ruin everything. The wind attempted to steal a few stools. Nature clearly wasn’t a fan of the arts.But we survived. Massive thank you to my fellow three artists, @kateelkington_art @florence_thornton_art and @alice.sims.paints, who absolutely kicked arse and made me bloody proud. The four paintings sat together beautifully, each one completely different, showing the diversity of the artists involved and the importance of curating a project like this properly. It’s not just about four people making four paintings. It’s about how those four paintings work together as one exhibition.

And these girls absolutely nailed it.

It was a proper reminder that getting a bunch of artists together, giving them a board and saying “go on then” can actually produce something pretty bloody good.

I’m genuinely so happy that the Outside Gallery, which started life as Anna and I sitting around in Bristol going “we should totally do that”, is back.

And honestly…

It looks fucking brilliant.
