- [Care Mural](https://stephenquickart.com/care-mural/): For this year’s event, I painted Care, my latest pop art comic book creation. She embodies strength and individuality, blending Western and Asian influences in a striking, powerful way. Wearing a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles mask, she represents resilience, fearlessness, and the fighting spirit of women. A bohemian feather in her ear adds a sense of freedom and uniqueness.

The artwork also included a nod to pop culture with Michelangelo’s banana. The phrase “Have A Nice Day” wasn’t intended to be cheery but rather delivered with the grit and sarcasm of Clint Eastwood. Unfortunately, the relentless rain meant the test was never added..

(Guilty as charged for chasing those views, too!)

Fatigue meant making more mistakes than usual (like realising, "it’s too high!" midway through). The one who made confidence look effortless. Wing cap covered in band badges, battered skateboard, bloody knees. The girl who wasn't trying to be cool... which, of course, made her the coolest person there. She isn't just skating. She's taking up space. She's loud in all the right ways. She's grace, grit, style and stubbornness rolled into one splash of colour.

- [Phoebe Bridgers Scream](https://stephenquickart.com/phoebe-bridgers-scream-painting/): Phoebe Bridgers 'scream' segmented pop art painting. After a recent festival, I overheard people saying that if you want to make it as an artist, you have to paint photorealistically. It made me think about how often artists are told they'd be more successful if they just changed who they are. This painting is my response to the idea that artists have to fit neatly into one category to be successful. Why are we expected to choose one lane and stay there? So I painted Phoebe Bridges through every style I've explored over the years. Inspired by the fragmented design of Bowie's 'Best Of Bowie' album cover, each square of Phoebe's face is painted in a different style from my own artistic career, comic book, pop art, photo realism, two tone and semi abstract.  Every section represents a different version of me as an artist, all coming together to create one portrait of the amazing Pheobe.

- [Goblin Green](https://stephenquickart.com/goblin-green-painting/): Goblin Green Paint Pot – Warhammer Pop Art Painting. Few colours are as iconic in the history of Warhammer as Goblin Green. During the golden age of 1990s Warhammer, almost every miniature stood proudly on a Goblin Green base. It became more than just a paint colour; it became a symbol of an era when Warhammer was brighter, more colourful, and filled with a sense of fun and adventure. Created in a bold pop art style using acrylic gouache, and ink, this artwork transforms a humble paint pot into a nostalgic cultural icon. While I would have loved to paint it using the original Goblin Green paint itself, that famous colour is long discontinued, making the surviving pots even more legendary among collectors and Warhammer fans.

- [Rage Makes Me Feel Pretty](https://stephenquickart.com/rage-makes-me-feel-pretty-painting/): Feminist Pop Art Painting.  Acrylic on Canvas. I created this original feminist pop art painting in acrylic on canvas as a bold exploration of female empowerment and emotional honesty. The piece focuses on a striking close-up portrait, an intense green eyes set against flowing blue hair—staring directly out at the viewer with anger, defiance, and control. At the center of the work is the phrase, “rages make me feel pretty,” presented in a 3D attached speech bubble. This line drives the meaning of the piece. Women’s anger is often suppressed or re-framed as something negative. Here, she reclaims that narrative, rejecting the idea that women must be calm, quiet or pleasing.

The artwork captures a retro sci-fi 2nd edition  marine miniature figure exactly as many hobbyists first encounter it, still attached to the plastic sprue, waiting to be clipped, assembled, and painted. The painting depicts the marine painted in acrylic SoFlat paint, still on the sprue. In the background is the classic green cutting mat that we all used when building and painting these miniatures.

Her acrylic blue hair falls over her face like a waterfall, soft but relentless, framing a moment of reflection rather than defeat. Her arms are tattooed with the pop-culture icons that helped her / me survive. She-Ra. Kiki from Kiki’s Delivery Service. Penny from Inspector Gadget. Attack on Titan. X-Men. Buffy the Vampire Slayer. These are the heroes that got me through. The painting comes with a detachable speech bubble, allowing the words to be removed or repositioned. The message can speak loudly, or be left silent, giving the viewer space to project their own meaning onto the moment.

Those tiny plastic figures and dungeon tiles were the beginning of everything for me. Next in the series is the Chaos Sorcerer, the big bad himself. I always called him the Witch King, but I was 10, what did I know? A miniature you didn’t see much on the board, but when you did, you knew it was a boss fight, and you’d need some lucky dice.
